A steady hand
on every chair.

Fades, shaves, and beard work done the unhurried way — six chairs, one standard, no rushing a good cut.

Since 2015

Started with one chair and a landlord who didn't believe in it.

Marcus opened The Steady Hand in the back third of a laundromat, one chair, no sign. Word got around the way it does in a neighborhood — not through ads, through Tuesday regulars telling Friday regulars. Nine years and five more chairs later, the standard hasn't moved: no phone at the chair, no rushing the line-up, no cut that walks out the door before it's right.

"A good barbershop isn't a service. It's a standing appointment with yourself." — Marcus, owner

Fades & tapers

"A fade should disappear into skin, not fall off a cliff."

Beard sculpting & straight razor

"The hot towel isn't a formality. It's half the shave."

Classic cuts, walk-ins

"No appointment book beats a barber who remembers your name."

The craft

Tools that don't cut corners

Every chair runs the same kit: Japanese steel shears, straight razors stropped between every shave, and clippers tuned weekly — not because it's expected, but because a rushed edge shows up in the mirror a week later.
